What is House Mold?

Black mold is a fungi, related to mushrooms and the mold used to add flavor to cheeses, that can be present in wet conditions in a house. Black mold, also known as house mold, forms from mold spores landing on moist areas and taking hold.

These spores reproduce rapidly into fuzzy, dense masses. They rely on moisture to survive, but the mold stays dry. This allows spores to easily disconnect from their origin and float freely, trying to find another area to grow. This is where the danger comes in to play.

When inside your home, you are pretty limited to the air you breathe. The air is typically trapped within your house, and not fresh air form outside. When black mold is present in your home, it will be constantly present in your air. This can present health issues because you will be breathing in this air at all times, exposing your body to the mold.

Spores from house mold can be dangerous for your body. When black mold grows in an undisturbed place, like a basement, it typically causes fewer problems. When it forms in moist places, like bathrooms used often, then the potential of exposure raises incredibly.

The most common side affects are similar to seasonal allergies. Runny nose, coughing, throat irritation, sneezing and eye irritation are common.

Sinusitis and asthma can occur from mold exposure, especially if you suffer from breathing difficulties or seasonal allergies. When exposure is high, dizziness, concentration problems, and headaches can occur.

If you have an immune system disease or it is compromise or weak, then you are more likely to have a severe reaction to black mold exposure. Those with these risks should be highly aware of the presence of house mold.

The efficient, safe and quick removal off all mold should be high priority, regardless of your health. There are several methods of mold remediation.

The removal of black mold is critically important for the safety and health of your family. Jeremy Szechenyi’s blog can help you learn more about safe mold removal. Don’t reprint this exact article. Instead, reprint a free unique content version of this same article.
