A 1 part alcohol and 2 parts water combination is a good solution. Use this mixture in the same way as described for the vinegar mixture. When you are done, there may be a lingering alcohol smell. This will also dissipate within a day. You may want to try sprinkling some baking soda on the area and let in sit about a half hour before you vacuum.
