Beer and Guinness World Records

Hands up all those of you who love beer. That’s a lot of hands I can see from here. Here’s a question for you all: could your love of beer help you break a Guinness world record?

There’s lots of ways to get yourself featured in the Guinness Book of World Records: for example, how many bottle caps can you take off with your teeth in 60 seconds? Or, if you want to keep your teeth, you could always go for the record number of bottles opened with a helicopter in three minutes. That, of course, is if you have a pilot’s license otherwise things could get somewhat traumatic. But if you prefer a totally trauma-free mention in the Guinness book, perhaps you could go for building a house made of beer mats (but without adhesives) or creating the biggest beer crate pyramid in the world.

But something is missing, don’t you think?

You’ve got beer bottles, beer bottle caps, beer mats and beer crates to help you get into the Guinness Book of World Records – but no beer! It’s all very well breaking a beer-type record … but what’s the point if you can’t have one or two during your record-breaking attempt? If breaking records makes you thirsty, then you’d be better off enjoying a few beers in the company of some good friends in a pub somewhere. Or, like “The Thirsty 13″, in 200 pubs – when they established a new world record of their own.

At eight forty five one morning in Manhattan, 13 beer lovers started a marathon that took them through 200 pubs in the next 10 hours. If you think you can beat that record, now’s the time to start training! On the other hand, if creating a world record isn’t for you, you might just prefer staying at home and sinking a few leisurely beers rather than running from one pub to the next. But then again, there’s always beer mat houses to build… or beer crate pyramids to construct. While having a few beers, of course!

Now, don’t forget that beer is also about taste. To truly enjoy a nice pint, publicans and licensees need to maintain clean lines in their premises. A great method of doing this is to set up an automated beer line cleaning system. CellarBright’s line cleaning systems can be seen throughout Britain, and they help keep beer tasting wonderfully fresh, with the minimum of fuss and cost.
